As the collective tightens its grip on the town, the line between hunter and prey vanishes completely. The nest no longer waits to be found. It has decided that everyone belongs to it. And it is still multiplying.

The hunger has a maker, and in Book 3 he arrives. Dionysus—god of wine, frenzy, and the body given wholly over—walks into the hotel and claims the original three as his permanent conduits. What was once survival and strategy becomes holy conquest.

Under his command, the triad and their converts fan out across the town as missionaries of the vine. Sixth-form colleges, police stations, the town hall, hostels, care homes, a home for blind women, halfway houses, and the last night shelter for the forgotten—each falls in turn to the scent, the milk, and the luminous nectar. Resistance is no longer possible; every mouth that tastes the gift becomes another root.

As dawn breaks over a town with no edges left, Dionysus surveys a world remade in ecstasy and irreversible surrender. The addiction is no longer an accident. It is a religion—and its congregation is everyone.

In Book 4 the mystery behind the addiction is finally laid bare. The triad learns that Olympia Falls is no ordinary town — it was designed a century ago by an occult lodge as a living temple, its streets aligned to sacred geometry, its families groomed across generations to carry a ritual that would summon Dionysus himself.

With the town's edges already consumed, the god turns his attention to the last bastion of purity: St. Sophia's Christian University on the east ridge, where god-fearing families send their eighteen-year-olds to stay clean. Staff fall first. Then the students. Then the chapel itself is re-consecrated — and a second deity, Athena, rises from the altar in answer to the vine's call.

Two temples now pulse at the heart of Olympia Falls. The gods demand bloodlines: converted students carry the gift home to their devout parents, and every good Christian household opens its doors to the endless feast. By nightfall the town square has become a single living mirror of worship, pleasure, and irreversible surrender.

In Book 5 the addiction stops being a town's secret and becomes a new age of the world. Four walking gods stand at the edge of Olympia Falls and turn their eyes outward, and the roads no longer lead to ordinary countryside.

As the expanding aeon unfolds, chthonic gates open, Demeter's harvest and the Olympian wave roll across the land, and primordial powers begin to stir — Nyx descending, Eros unbound, Gaia trembling awake. Villages, crossroads, coastal tourist towns, cruise ships, and titans of the deep are drawn one after another into the endless, ecstatic rewrite.

The original triad — now High Priest and High Priestesses — ride the tide as living conduits while the pantheon multiplies around them. Prometheus is loosed, the sea itself answers, and at last the aeon turns north toward Edinburgh for the weekend the world locked. The hunger that once claimed a single hotel now reaches for everything.

In Book 6 the clean age ends. The original triad watches from Edinburgh as the last cities tip and two final, perfect conversions unfold: a convent falls from within, and ten girls who share a birthday lock together in a cinema foyer on the day they turn eighteen.

What follows is a week-long cascade through sixth-form colleges, free-use households, and youth institutions as each new birthday unlocks another cohort for the vine, the rose, the grain, and the night. Teachers become conduits, parents demand their daughters' service, and every kink the old world suppressed blooms openly under the absolute age.

By the end, the expanding aeon has swept through every holdout — from the quiet cloister to the embassy gates — and the hunger that began in a single hotel room has rewritten the entire world.

In Book 7 the aeon goes to the movies. A prestigious Mediterranean film festival becomes the stage for the most public conversion yet when a panel of iconic actresses drinks from a doctored carafe and the amphitheatre audience locks in real time.

What follows is a night-long cascade through symposium tents, beach stages, artist retreats, and hidden clearings as the festival's brightest minds — directors, writers, musicians, critics — are drawn one by one into the ecstatic new order. Elder actresses are reborn. A Scottish folk singer honey-traps an entire production crew. Four clean holdouts in a hillside clearing drink and discover what the lock truly means.

By dawn the island itself begins to remember: ancient Delos stirs, its buried temples humming, its sacred lake filling with milk and nectar, as the absolute age claims the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis and rewrites mythology from the roots up.

In Book 8 the absolute age learns patience. The original wave has passed; what remains is the quiet, intimate work of turning the last holdouts — not by force but by proximity, curiosity, and the soft gravity of bodies that have already changed.

On Delos a villa of festival guests wakes into the new world one conversation at a time. In Somerset a wedding party discovers that the bride's oldest friends arrived already locked. In a Swiss lakeside complex the dominoes fall through shared kitchens, poolside conversations, and the gentle insistence of milk and need.

By the end, the last clean pockets of Europe have been folded in — not with the roar of the early aeon but with the unhurried tenderness of people who know the outcome is certain and have all the time in the world.
